We loved this house, a traditional property, and it was really close to the beach. The owner was charming and the lady who looked after the property was very helpful. The only thing we didn't like was the strong smell of stale tobacco smoke, impossible to get rid of. Of course that may have changed in the time since we stayed there, if so, it deserves rating 5. We'd like to go again someday.

Functional and pleasant accommodation. Small downside: facing north, but I don't regret it. I had a good stay in this studio. Yes, the descriptions were as advertised.

Perfectly located apartment, everything is within walking distance: the city center of La Rochelle or on the other side towards Angoulins. The beach is 10 m away with no road to cross, the apartment is welcoming with a beautiful terrace and a beautiful view of the ocean. The nearby park is very convenient for walking dogs and humans! Relations with the owners or the person present for entry and exit are very easy. I absolutely recommend.
Appartement parfaitement situé, tout est accessible à pied : le centre ville de La Rochelle ou de l'autre côté vers Angoulins. La plage est à 10 m sans route à traverser, l'appartement est accueillant avec une belle terrasse et belle vue sur l'océan. Le parc voisin est très pratique pour la promenade des chiens et des humains ! Les relations avec les propriétaires ou la personne présente pour l'entrée et la sortie sont très faciles. Je recommande absolument.
Correct and clean accommodation, very well located in a very beautiful little village, close to the center and the morning walk, not too far from the beach!

The apartment is elegant, comfortable and very well equipped. The balcony has a beautiful exposure to the calm with a view of the very pleasant swimming pool of the residence. Lots of storage. Pleasant volume with the cathedral roof of the living room. Clarification concerning the staircase of the duplex: steep and narrow without overcoming on the floor, you have to be careful. Very clean common areas.
Its location is ideal. A few minutes walk away you will find: - the markets open every day (except Monday in June) which offer a wide variety of local products (a nod to the organic market gardener with her delicious fruits and vegetables), - the contact crossroads, - a pharmacy, - several bike rental companies, - secure access to a large and beautiful beach, - several bars and restaurants, - a small carnival, - a small cinema at the foot of the residence.
La Couarde sur Mer is located in the middle of the island, which allows you to visit it without going too far.
A must see: the whale lighthouse, cycling to Pointe du Grouin through the salt marshes, St Martin de Ré, ...

L'appartement est élégant, confortable et très bien équipé. Le balcon a une belle exposition au calme avec une vue sur la piscine très agréable de la résidence. Beaucoup de rangements. Volume plaisant avec le toit cathédrale de la pièce de vie. Précision concernant l'escalier du duplex : raide et étroit sans pallier à l'étage, il faut se montrer prudent. Parties communes très propres.
Son emplacement est idéal. A quelques minutes à pied, vous trouverez :
- les halles ouvertes tous les jours (sauf le lundi en juin) qui offrent une grande variété de produits locaux (petit clin d'œil à la maraîchère bio avec ses fruits et légumes délicieux),
- le carrefour contact,
- une pharmacie,
- plusieurs loueurs de vélos,
- un accès sécurisé à une grande et belle plage,
- plusieurs bars et restos,
- une petite fête foraine,
- un petit cinéma au pied de la résidence.
La Couarde sur Mer se situe au milieu de l'île, ce qui permet de la visiter sans faire trop de distance.
A voir absolument : le phare des baleines, aller en vélo jusqu'à la Pointe du Grouin à travers les marais salants, St Martin de Ré, ...

Clean apartment very well located. Close to shops, bike rental companies and the beach. Parking and storage for bicycles very practical. Exchanges with the owners very cordial, easy and fast. Too bad the wifi is not functional but 4G without worries. Little space in the bike room.

We had a fantastic family vacation in this house! The rental is very spacious, tastefully furnished and very well equipped. It is a real preserved space, quiet, despite the immediate proximity of the center and the market (5 minutes on foot). The garden and the heated swimming pool allow you to relax after cycling on the many cycle paths of the island. Special mention to the summer lounge (and its adjoining kitchen), which offers the possibility of having lunch in the shade, even in hot weather. Not to mention the excellent welcome, explanations and advice from our host, passionate about his island!
Nous avons passé de fantastiques vacances en famille dans cette maison ! La location est très spacieuse aménagée avec goût et très bien équipée. C'est un véritable espace préservé, tranquille, malgré la proximité immédiate du centre et du marché (5 minutes à pied). Le jardin et la piscine chauffée permettent de se détendre après les ballades en vélo sur les nombreuses pistes cyclables de l'île. Mention spéciale au salon d'été (et sa cuisine attenante), qui offre la possibilité de déjeuner à l'ombre, même par fortes chaleurs. Sans oublier l'excellent accueil, explications et conseils de notre hôte, passionné par son île !
