Monte di Rota: a haven of peace in the heart of Tuscany
The houses of Monte di Rota are located on top of a high hill and offer a wonderful view over the Chianti area until Siena. The next house is situated at a distance of 1km, the small village of Duddova is at 2km and the village of Ambra where you can find shops or restaurants is at 4 km. Thanks to their position between Siena, Arezzo and Florence, the houses are ideal for anyone looking for accomodation which offers both relaxation and sightseeing.

The “Scala” apartment (85sqm) has recently been restored. Thanks to its position on the first floor of an old farmhouse, it offers its inhabitants a wonderful view. You enter the house arriving from the central “piazza" by a staircase that leads to a beautiful panoramic terrace (from which we took the main photo of the ad). The apartment has 2 bedrooms (double or single beds), a kitchen, a dining room, a living room and a bathroom.

Finally the jewel of Monte di Rota is its big panoramic swimming pool (20x5.5m) with its extra corner for children (only 60cm). On the lawn around the pool, each group has its own gazebo. The pool, the barbecue, the wood oven and the park with its playing area for children are for the use of all the guests of both houses.

Our valley, the Valdambra, is in the heart of Tuscany, on the southern border of the Chianti area. You can reach both Siena and Arezzo in half an hour, Florence is at one hour (by car or train). From Monte di Rota it is possible to reach beautiful little villages and medieval castles on foot, using one of the hiking trails which pass near (not next to!) the houses.

Getting there
Arriving from the north:
Drive along the A1 motorway up to the exit “Valdarno” (after the exits “Firenze Sud” and “Incisa”), go through the town of Montevarchi and then continue to “Bucine” or “Ambra” (about 20 minutes).

Arriving from the south:
Drive on the A1 motorway up to the "Valdichiana" exit, then continue on the freeway in direction of Siena up to the exit "Colonna del Grillo". Then continue to Ambra (about 10 minutes).
