Very good Chalet, we rented the house during the winter and due to the recent snowfall we were able to ski from the house to the ski lift (and even from the piste to the house, though this requires a fairly substantial descend off-piste). The owners were responsive in their communication and were able to offer us a discount on our skipasses. Overall we had a very nice stay!
Every now and then you get lucky and find an amazing home-from-home rental accommodation. Trust me, this is one of those 5* gems! Where do I start?
Clearly Marc & Patricia have put an enormous amount of thought and effort into making this chalet a home with everything you could possibly want. I believe this chalet was recently renovated during 2021 and so everything feels new.
The kitchen is truly well equipped…plenty of large and small plates, bowls, cutlery, glasses (both wine glasses and flutes, tumblers and pint glasses), mugs, cups, cooking utensils, pots and pans, to cater for ‘WELL OVER’ 12 people (we were 8, so plenty to spare). There is a dishwasher and also both a Fondue and Raclette set for those adventurous cooks, oh….and a sandwich toaster. Also provided is a Nespresso machine…we took our coffee pods but I believe you can buy pods in Tignes Le Lac if you forget to take your own. Our favourite kitchen device however was the table top ice maker…. perfect for that G&T after a hard day on the slopes!
The chalet has 4 large bedrooms all with en-suite with plenty of storage space. The beds were very comfortable. Three of the bedrooms have additional beds - two of those bedrooms having slightly smaller mattresses large enough for say a 13/14 year old depending on their height.
The lounge has plenty of comfortable seating and a huge dining table overlooking the enormous outside terrace and the beautiful views across the lake to Val Claret and the mountain beyond. The lounge has an open fire and plenty of wood to burn is supplied. The lounge also has a Bluetooth speaker to connect your own devices to (we hard wired our mobile phones as we couldn’t figure out the Bluetooth connection after a few glasses of wine!! Likely it was the wine which affected our senses than the speaker itself, so I’m sure anyone that’s tech savvy would be able to figure it out and if not, Marc is always available to help!). The lounge is also equipped with a smart TV and DVD and also has the ability to connect up a laptop.
The outside terrace is huge and we were lucky enough to bask in glorious sunshine for 4 days out of the 6 when we returned from the slopes. There is an outside BBQ (gas I think) and Wood Burner that unfortunately we didn’t get to try, but great as an option should you wish to use them.
There is plenty of WIFI throughout the chalet and not once did anyone moan about poor connectivity….not even when all 8 of us were on our devices!!
The chalet has it’s own private cinema room and sauna (for use solely by the occupants of this chalet…i.e. not shared with anyone) – additional towels are provided for the sauna. The cinema room has great surround-sound and you can connect to pretty much anything…Apple TV, Netflix, Prime, Disney, your own laptop and there are plenty of DVDs to choose from in the chalet should you not want to bring your own.
The chalet has its own private (not shared) boot warmer and ski rack, enough for at least 12 sets, conveniently positioned inside the chalet by the front door.
The owners Marc and Patricia are extremely welcoming and friendly. They are very close by should you need anything. Should you arrive in Tignes early before check-in or leave Tignes later after check-out, they will try and be as flexible as possible but if it’s not possible you can safely store your luggage in Marc and Patricia’s locked garage and head into town.
The walk into town where the ski schools meet takes no more than 5 minutes. Here you’ll also find a great supermarket with plenty of choice as well as plenty of restaurants nearby (I suggest you book 3-4 days in advance in peak season).

Not five star comfort but this is a good value, good house. 11 of us spent a very happy week there. The beds were comfortable and the house was warm and cosy. Everything worked. TA bonus was the free supply of firewood for the excellent wood burning fire in the living room.
The owner is not always the quickest at replying to e-mail and we used English/French Google Translate as an aid to communication but overall Olivier is OK to deal with.
We would be very happy to stay there again.
Excellent stay. House really well prepared, with extense space. Everything worked as expected. We recommend it specially for families wishing to enjoy a good skiing week.
We rented the largest apartment in the building in July. The apartment was of high standard and well equipped. The building was placed in a nice setting, and there is a walking distance to all you need. Stunning surroundings. The owner provided good service and was accessible and service-minded throughout our stay. We enjoyed our stay, and would like visit onother year!
We had an excellent stay in this human-sized resort. The accommodation perfectly matched our expectations and the detailed description provided by the owner with whom we were able to communicate and exchange regularly; which was a real pleasure. We will most likely come back whether in winter or summer!

The kitchen is relatively small for accommodation designed for 12 people. The chalet is not really close to the ski lifts which take you to the Arrondaz plateau (departure from the ski schools and the Piou Piou club). When there are young children with the shoes and equipment it is a bit complicated. We discovered at the end of the stay that there was a free locker in the village to drop off equipment at the end of the day. It might be interesting to point this out in the advert, it can be very useful when there are children. The return to the chalet will be made easier.
La cuisine est relativement petite pour un logement prévu pour 12 personnes. Le chalet n'est pas vraiment proche des remontées mécaniques qui permettent de monter au plateau d'Arrondaz (départ des écoles de ski et du club Piou Piou). Quand il y a de jeunes enfants avec les chaussures et le matériel cela est un peu compliqué. Nous avons découvert à la fin du séjour qu'il y avait dans le village une consigne gratuite pour déposer le matériel en fin de journée. Il serait peut-être intéressant de le signaler dans l'annonce, cela peut être très utile quand il y a des enfants. La remontée vers le chalet en sera facilitée..

We had an excellent stay at the hamlet of Méribel Mottaret. We particularly appreciated the large living space of the living room - lounge and the integrated kitchen open to this space. The proximity to the slopes, shops and means of transport (bus, cable car) to go down to the bottom of the resort are very appreciable. We will come back with pleasure.

Superb chalet. We were a family: 12 people. The apartment is spacious, bright, conducive to conviviality. The surrounding environment is pleasant. The icing on the cake was that the arrival of snow on January 1st gave us a magical landscape. Mr LB is warm and very available to his tenants.

Very nice chalet, very well equipped and tastefully decorated. Very popular for groups with a fireplace in the living room. The shuttle is nearby for skiers or walkers. The hamlet of Chandon is charming to visit. The owner is very friendly and available if needed. To recommend.

Our stay was appreciated by our large family (we were 12: parents, children, grandchildren) because the chalet, in its small forest, was not only consistent with the description, but in addition .... beautiful, bright, comfortable, spacious with 1 hallucinating view of the surrounding mountains. We even plan to come back!
