This is a small, bright and clean apartment with lovely terrace overlooking the Somme Bay. It is in a residential area about 20 mins from le Crotoy centre and we didn't find any local shops - best to shop in advance.
I think 4 persons (2 would sleep on sofa bed in main room) would find the space tight. The toilet is on the floor below the large bathroom which is a little inconvenient, particularly negotiating the stairs at night.
I would suggest that the owners should consider upgrading the crockery and cooking utensils which would give a higher rating. Most people choose self catering because they want the flexibility of cooking for themselves rather than using restaurants all the time.
French owned, this is possibly more geared to French holidaymakers. For us, it was an easy drive from Calais and we found some excellent restaurants in the area. The owners were very helpful.
We chose this apartment because we were let down on an earlier booking, but we were so pleased! On entering the building and indeed when first going into the apartment, it feels very utilitarian and bare but don't be put off! The apartment is so close to the beach and its biggest plus is the huge balcony which catches the sun for most of the day.
The apartment is very well equipped with plenty of glasses and crockery and everything you might need in the kitchen - except maybe a kettle. There are plenty of chairs inside and out. The beds are comfy and we all slept well. The 'cabine' with the bunkbeds is in a section of hallway near one of the bedrooms but cosier than it sounds and my 12 yr old son was very happy with it.
We loved the town of Fort Mahon Plage, plenty of restaurants and ice cream shops, plus a good boulangerie. The restaurants were not cheap but the food was of a high quality.
The beach is Fort Mahon's biggest attraction - a long, wide and very sandy beach with plenty of space and the sea was warm too.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment, and would happily visit again in the future. One tip - email the owner in French for a prompt and helpful reply.
We were very pleased with this warm and comfortable cottage, which matched the description and photos supplied. The location, overlooking the beach and close to shops and restaurants, is great.
If you decide to rent this property, remember to take sheets, (not duvet covers) towels and large, square pillow cases with you as they are not supplied.
You should also be aware of the need to purchase a parking permit -we understand a weekly permit is available from the Mairie. Offseason, we parked in the courtyard as no-one was occupying the adjacent property but that was just good luck. The courtyard is quite difficult to drive into, however.
Location was great - we had a great holiday helped by wonderful weather. View from the flat over the beach is wonderful.
Property needs a little attention: bunk bed very creaky - top bunk not really useable and sofa cover needs replacing. Surprising lack of many basic kitchen utensils.
I feel the advert should state that it is a second floor flat accessed only by a steep staircase.
The owner is welcoming. The apartment is well appointed, with a view of the sea and we have all the necessary equipment to spend a pleasant week. What more ! I recommand it

Beautiful studio, very well located, very quiet and very functional. With a reserved space in a private car park, very useful in Fort-Mahon where all car parks are subject to charges.

Excellent rental, functional, comfortable and very endearing. A haven of peace 2 steps from the bay by a small staircase and very close to all the shops. The house is as described, it is spacious and bright especially on the 1st floor with a view of the bay. I highly recommend this rental.

Pretty little fisherman's house, which shares its courtyard with another house. Not easy to park in the yard but we managed! :-) Very well located, close to the sea and a few minutes walk from the shops. The ground floor includes a large bedroom and a very small bathroom (shower) + laundry room. The floor is friendly and bright. The description should be adapted as there is no longer a cot. The photos should also be updated because the furniture has changed somewhat. We had a good stay there.
Jolie petite maison de pêcheur, qui partage sa cour avec une autre habitation. Pas évident de se garer dans la cour mais on a réussi! :-) Très bien située, à deux pas de la mer et à quelques minutes à pied des commerces. Le rez-de-chaussée comprend une grande chambre et une très petite salle d'eau (douche) + buanderie. L'étage est convivial et lumineux. La description devrait être adaptée car il n'y a plus de lit bébé. Les photos devraient également être mises à jour car le mobilier à quelque peu changé. Nous y avons passé un bon séjour.
