Dominique and Sylviane were wonderful hosts and made our stay in Le Bois Dormant comfortable, relaxed and very enjoyable. The Mobile Home was well-appointed in a quiet "cul de sac" in the centre of the campsite surrounded by lovely pine trees. We have 3 teenagers and the rooms were compact (as is to be expected in a typical campsite cabin) but with good storage space design for clothes and other items. The home was very well-equipped - a comfortable living area with sofa, table and chairs and TV. The kitchen equipment included good appliances: oven, hob, microwave, fridge freezer and a great selection of crockery and utensils, as well as copious pots and pans. Outside the cabin there was a raised decked area with table and chairs - we ate outside every evening enjoying the sound of the cicadas and the sea. The campsite is well-situated from the A16 autoroute and just over an hour’s drive from Calais. It’s a 10 min cycle ride to Quend Plage (a beautiful sandy beach) and there are cycle paths which we used daily. For families with younger children the pool and water slides are great fun and we enjoyed the onsite bar listening to a Johnny Hallyday tribute act whilst sipping a Kir Royale on our first evening. Our teenagers made the most of the on-site gym and local tennis court. The Baie de Somme area is a picturesque part of northern France and there are lots of lovely towns and a beautiful nature reserve. Our hosts were delightful and we both got by conversationally when they showed us the home on our arrival and when they came to say goodbye - our joint limited French and English was helped by Google Translate! A hearty recommendation for those who don’t want to spend hours driving to arrive somewhere more southern regionally, and if you want something more sturdy than canvas to sleep under and with all modern domestic amenities (incl. an onsite shop) . A wonderful holiday home - thank you Dominique and Sylviane.

Gorgeous cottage- much bigger than it seems-3 good sized bedrooms, huge bathroom, 2 living areas, downstairs shower & loo.... great kitchen & super sheltered outside space. We know the area well- so just spent our week walking .... the car did not move at all. The seafood of the area is outstanding and great value... the steam train to St Valerie is a must- get the 11am, have another lovely lunch there and catch the train back- a simple but great day out. The beach is sandy and clean- huge tidal flow... amazing sunsets The shopping in Le Crotoy is more than adequate- a good Carrefour and some local speciality shops... and a good market too. We had a super week ... really relaxing- a total step back to simple stuff. The lack of internet and reliable phone signal was a bit of annoyance- but only because my husband needed to keep in touch with work... but it didnt bother me or the kids too much. Martine was very friendly with good communications, she met us at the house at the start and end of our break - made everything so easy Would definately recommend.

This is a small, bright and clean apartment with lovely terrace overlooking the Somme Bay. It is in a residential area about 20 mins from le Crotoy centre and we didn't find any local shops - best to shop in advance. I think 4 persons (2 would sleep on sofa bed in main room) would find the space tight. The toilet is on the floor below the large bathroom which is a little inconvenient, particularly negotiating the stairs at night. I would suggest that the owners should consider upgrading the crockery and cooking utensils which would give a higher rating. Most people choose self catering because they want the flexibility of cooking for themselves rather than using restaurants all the time. French owned, this is possibly more geared to French holidaymakers. For us, it was an easy drive from Calais and we found some excellent restaurants in the area. The owners were very helpful.

Loved the cottage. It was just around the corner from the beach and not far to the local bakery & supermarket. The owner left lots of information on places to visit. Would stay here again. Had a great week

We chose this apartment because we were let down on an earlier booking, but we were so pleased! On entering the building and indeed when first going into the apartment, it feels very utilitarian and bare but don't be put off! The apartment is so close to the beach and its biggest plus is the huge balcony which catches the sun for most of the day. The apartment is very well equipped with plenty of glasses and crockery and everything you might need in the kitchen - except maybe a kettle. There are plenty of chairs inside and out. The beds are comfy and we all slept well. The 'cabine' with the bunkbeds is in a section of hallway near one of the bedrooms but cosier than it sounds and my 12 yr old son was very happy with it. We loved the town of Fort Mahon Plage, plenty of restaurants and ice cream shops, plus a good boulangerie. The restaurants were not cheap but the food was of a high quality. The beach is Fort Mahon's biggest attraction - a long, wide and very sandy beach with plenty of space and the sea was warm too. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment, and would happily visit again in the future. One tip - email the owner in French for a prompt and helpful reply.

We were very pleased with this warm and comfortable cottage, which matched the description and photos supplied. The location, overlooking the beach and close to shops and restaurants, is great. If you decide to rent this property, remember to take sheets, (not duvet covers) towels and large, square pillow cases with you as they are not supplied. You should also be aware of the need to purchase a parking permit -we understand a weekly permit is available from the Mairie. Offseason, we parked in the courtyard as no-one was occupying the adjacent property but that was just good luck. The courtyard is quite difficult to drive into, however.

Location was great - we had a great holiday helped by wonderful weather. View from the flat over the beach is wonderful. Property needs a little attention: bunk bed very creaky - top bunk not really useable and sofa cover needs replacing. Surprising lack of many basic kitchen utensils. I feel the advert should state that it is a second floor flat accessed only by a steep staircase.
